Summer means bright sunshine and warm weather. It also means a chance that the sun exposure and heat could make people feel unwell. When there are heat advisories or it’s very warm outside, try to limit outdoor activities to early in the morning or late in the evening when it’s cooler. If you must be outdoors, make sure to keep hydrated, wear protective clothing and SPF, and take breaks to prevent heat exhaustion. Groups at risk are adults over the age of 65, babies, young children, individuals with health conditions, and individuals taking certain medications who may be more sensitive to the heath/sun. You can learn more about how to stay safe from the summer heat by the CDC and the Red Cross.
